The Joys

Not many on this one - it cleaned up ok, never was able to get it drivable.

The Struggles

It's very difficult to see in the photos, but the right drivers side wheel is bent from suspension damage. Looks like it hit a curb at very high speed. This alone would have made it undrivable. There was also a problem with the drivers footwell module that made the headlights not turn on. Finding this exact module or maybe diagnosing the actual problem was beyond my skill. Replacing the glove box cover and goey door handles was relatively easy. I tried a 3 different footwell modules, each of which enabled some portion of the headlight assemblies.

The Experience

Along with the 2009 Honda Accord this vehicle had huge learning experiences associated with it. Primarily along the lines of auto bid master and other brokers adding very little value for their service adds. The overall process is the same, you just get a broken clean title car delivered for approximately 1/3rd more cost added to the 'final' auction price. In addition, this vehicle was subject to a 'counter offer', after the 'winning' bid. This is the copart double speak that is used to get the maximum net value out of their marketplace. You don't actually win anything for some sales. If it's pure sale, apparently that is the only way. If it's any of the other options, the seller can make counter offers, terminate your 'winning' bid, and various other mechanisms to get the price they want. In this pass I simply did nothing, did not decline, did no other negotiation, and they eventually accepted the bid.The vehicles most value was for hood swap on the 2013 BMW X3 35.
